Default ATTN Legendary Survivors..Any tips?

Hey.

I plan on going for Legendary Survivor..I've tried before but came up about 57k xp short of Indomitable Survivor I learned that soloing UW with my W/Rt was a bad idea .

Im going to try and just cap,not FF or anything.

So any tips would be appreciated. <3

(If this doesn't belong here just delete it or something)

Thanks

I personally am using a paragon. They work well due to highest base armour, protective shouts, mid range and the fact that they get a shield.

On the other hand, a guildmate of mine is going for Survivor using a Necromancer. He plans to get them to lvl 20 then just 55hp farm stuff.

Don't die. That's the basic idea I think.

Don't pug, they ALWAYS fail. Play with guildies/friends or heroes (1 friend as monk is good, due to intelligent prot).

Im going to avoid a paragon/sin/rit/mesmer. =P

I thought about 55ing my way to LS..but I don't know really,it seems to risky. If you don't pay attention to what your doing you could get owned easily ;/

Never, ever, under any circumstances try working on a survivor while lagging. If gameplay starts to get laggy/jittery, and the connection light turns yellow/red, take a break. Lag ruined my survivor title twice.

If you want to avoid those classes I recommend a Monk. You're always at the back, rarely attacking and you can take a bunch of power self-heals to keep yourself alive in case of trouble. My monk was my first survivor and she only died due to being body blocked by friendly necro minions (this was before you could just walk through them). If you don't want to use monk, go ranger.

Whichever class you start as, it's probably best to make it a Tyrian (Prophecies) character. Presearing is fairly tame and it's rather easy to get to post just by accepting the quest then logging out to avoid the pvp, etc. Canthan characters have to take the long way around Shing Jea before they even get their max armour (so added risk). While the Elonians can get a ferry to the Docks for max armour they have to take the long way around Istan getting low-level heroes. If you go as Tyrian however, once you've seared you can get a run to LA and from there to Kaineng or Kamadan for your max armour. Also, you can get Dunkoro, Melonni, Koss & Tahlkora at level 15, just outside Kamadan, and you can grab either Sousuke or Jin fairly easily, although they're level 12, iirc. Having heroes makes surviving alot easier (assuming you've got decent enough skills for them).

As for method, truth be told, I got to Survivor (1) by just playing through the campaigns. You can get alot of XP from quests around Kaineng Center, especially if you've made nice with the Am Fah (by beating up 3 Jade Brotherhood) and just run around the Wajjun Bazaar doing all those easy quests. As an example my 4th survivor, an axe warrior/rit is getting close to R2 Survivor just by doing quests and missions (she's at Dragon's Lair in Prophecies, Eternal Grove in Factions and Dasha Vestibule in Nightfall).

If you want Legendary Survivor, the easiest way is play through the campaigns (using guildies or friends for help through the harder missions) and when a double XP skill cap weekend happens go out and cap like mad. Doesn't even matter if the skill is useful or not, just cap whatever you can easily get a hold of. This way costs more since you've got to shell out alot for signets of capture, but at 10k xp per cap, you really can't level any faster. My paragon has about 100 elite skills capped for instance. This method is also useful for unlocking nice skills for heroes, but that isn't required.

Best, safest, and smartest way is to just don't ever fight. Period. Let your Heroes and/or Henchies and/or friends kill everything for you on the way to Lut whilst you stay well out of aggro range of any enemy.

There are a few spots where you might be forced to be semi-near aggro range, like Sunjiang end bosses, but for the most part there is no need to and no reason whatsoever for a Legendary Survivor to be anywhere near the aggro range of any enemy.

When you get to Lut without dying, you've made it. Just be a Doorman til you got it.

If ya already didn't know... F12 is your friend (exits game)...

Also, use left ctrl + shift + space so your henchies/heroes charge into enemy mobs, instead of you attacking so the henchies will follow.. (Correct me if the command is wrong)

I keep a checklist of quests and do ALL quests lol. I currently have ALL Kaineng and Kurzick quests done. I'm working on Kourna quests. Also, cap every elite skill is what I do.

There's a thread somewhere that describes killing Jade Brotherhood Knights in HM for easy, fast, and incredibly safe Legendary Survivor title. Only reason my Paragon doesn't have it is because I did something risky and got lag spiked at the same time, making the risky deadly.

I have four Legendary Survivor characters, soon to be five.

As was mentioned, Tyria is nice for the project. A player can easily reach level eight or nine before leaving presearing. I do, however, disagree with the idea of being run to Lion's Arch for armor. It is risky to put your character's life entirely in the hands of someone you do not know well. If you have a trustworthy guildmate or whatever...fine, give it a shot. I prefer to take it slow and finish off every last quest in existence. I last arrived in LA at level 16, in a much better position to continue than if I had been run.

Make sure your equipment is up to par. Pack in every bit of extra health and armor you can. This means avoiding major and superior runes; I can't think of any scenario in pve in which they are absolutely vital anyway.

The single most crucial element to survival is knowing what you are about to encounter. Scour the wiki before entering an unfamiliar zone. It also helps to play through the missions beforehand as a different character to refresh your memory of what goes on in them.

Important item number two: avoid people. Heroes and henchman should become your only companions after level twenty. Even your closest friends should not ever see this character, and here's why: they're human. They're bound to screw up eventually, and when it happens nothing good will result. You'll be upset that you died, they will feel guilty about the situation, and in the end you just have to start over. Not worth it if you ask me.

After reaching the first tier of Survivor, the rest of the title is about preventing mental errors. I lost a character just shy of Indomitable a while back because I wasn't paying attention. I tried to lure a mob but I was holding my switch weapon, which happened to be a shortbow. My ranger ran full-tilt into the aggro circle and promptly took a dirt nap.

As for grinding out all the necessary xp, skill-capping is probably the most popular method. I haven't had the fortune to play on any of the double-elite weekends, but I imagine that they would go a long way toward reaching the milestone. Another good place is the Jade Arena outside of Breaker Hollow. With a decent hero setup you can farm it for 2,000xp every three to four minutes. I have used that on occasion for subsequent characters, after I had all the elites unlocked for my account. Other players have suggested solo farming, but I am somewhat skeptical of the idea. All it takes is a single spike of lag for more than a few seconds to seal your fate.

If you have further questions, you can contact me.

Good luck on your pursuit of tier three.

edit: @Navaros--What you suggest is terribly cowardly, and I strongly discourage it. It's even less respectable than playing with one finger constantly hovered over F12. If you have no intention of ever engaging in combat, then this is not the sort of title you should be chasing in the first place.

I've done LS on other classes before so last week I took the challenge and started a survivor sin. She's at 800k XP right now and going smoothly Here are a couple of tips:

* surviving is not about luck (lag notwithstanding) but something that can be learned - it's better to start with an easy profession like ranger or paragon which provide a much larger margin of error in execution
* don't do anything stupid (that includes joining a PUG)
* don't do anything that you haven't done before with another character (arguably, this too falls under the previous point)
* use heroes and henches as your shield - they are expendable, you're not. You cannot, however, stay completely out of the fight because it won't give you any XP that way.
* Olias with bone horrors is an excellent cushion between you and enemies (nothing blocks like a herd of horrors)
* if you lose about half of your offense or all of your defense retreat immediately. If necessary, sacrifice the rest of the party by flagging it stationary.
* as a corollary to the previous point, always make sure that you have a clear path to retreat - you should never get caught fighting on two fronts at the same time
* patience is your best friend

Simply put: Don't get greedy. Some will suggest going to places like the Crystal Desert for the 50k exp when you Ascend or other highend exp quests/mission. I got my necro to LS by simply solo farming outside of Shing Jea in HM with scrolls. All said, took about a week.

FFF

Or I saw a guide farming Jade Knights.
I tried that, but just farm the first 6 monsters.
I died twice, because I killed more. (The Boss)

Sec, I'll get the link for you.

Patience, ranger is the best.

Do not leave pre before ur lvl 12 (i made it to 16 without dying), in post it should go on smoothly.

If you have factions then have a guildy or friend run u to LA, by that time you would have already got ur primary Survivor title, then i traveled to cantha, also with a good guildy, u can fill up ur xp bar fast with 4000xp easy quests! don't forget to buy ur canthan armor (max protc.)

I find it ok to share my monster xp with a friend (my brother as a monk really helped me), rather then dying and regreting everything @ a later stage. it only takes more time but that's fine since there is no place for mistakes....

USE SCROLLS they r helpfull and boost ur xp bar fast. keep ur hand on ur map and if it gets bad just jump back to the nearest town and restart; that saved me many times.

Good luck...
